Rebecca Awram has been a government-licenced mortgage broker for almost a decade and a half and preceded that with over 20 years of business in software development, investment and real estate experience. When she first started her new career (‘new’ at the time!) her biggest fans were her parents. Seniors themselves at the time, they networked and promoted her to all their friends. Not surprisingly, becoming an expert in this demographic was one of her first specialties.
As an independent mortgage broker specializing in seniors, her advice is not constrained by any bias. Diplomatic, comforting and patient are some of the words that describe her best, but don’t let her easygoing nature fool you. She can be a sharp and powerful negotiator for you when needed! She works directly for you (her clients) and is not on the payroll of a particular bank or lender. This gives her the flexibility to customize mortgage solutions to your unique situation and find the product that’s right for you. She can of course broker reverse mortgages, but she also has the contacts and experience to help you determine if that is even the right choice for you, or your family, your parents or your friends.
She holds degrees from Douglas College, Simon Fraser University and UBC. She is a member in good standing of the provincial CMBA-BC, the local Chamber of Commerce and is licenced by the BCFSA. She has been quoted in endless local media, and in larger media such as the Vancouver Sun and the Globe and Mail,
In her downtime, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, cycling, kayaking and hanging out with her standard poodle Bond (yes, that’s a financial reference).
